Otto Jarl (born 10 April 1856 to lock in Uppland Ekholmen , † 16 November 1915 in Vienna Dornbach ) was an Austrian sculptor originally from Sweden. He studied in Stockholm on the Tekniska skolan (technical school) and at the Art Academy in Vienna. He especiallyr recognized as animal sculptor. One of his most famous works was a sitting lion as a monument to Major Hackher, the defender of the Schlossberg hill against the French siege 1809th The monument was built in 1909 but melted down in 1943 and 1966, replaced by a freely re-creation of William Gosser perceived in the original stand. In 1959, the Vienna-Jarlweg favorites was named after him. In Graz, the Puntigam Jarlweg is named after him..

Inscription: signed and dated on  the neck   Jarl (19)02 , on the reverse of sole there are stamps: "Depose" and  manufacture mark  "Forster".

Condition: in quite good condition, paws were professional restored.
