Russian sledge winter scene created in 1877   by good-listed Austrian genre and animal painter Adolf van der Venne , born in 1828 in Vienna (died in 1911). He regularly exhibited his works at the Austrian Art Union.

Artist is listed in the H.Fuchs "Dictionary of Austrian Painters".

Inscription: signed and dated (18)77 lower right

Technique: oil on canvas. Luxuriousy  original period gilt frame.

Measurements: unframed w 32 1/4" x h 26" (82 x 66 cm); framed w 45 3/4" x h 40 1/8" (116 x 102 cm)

Condition: in good condition,  canvas was professionally lined and cleaned
