Rudolf Konopa was a very well-known landscape painter of the turn of the 20th century. Since 1881 he studied at the Vienna Academy and travelled to France, England and Italy. Konopa was a friend of A. Böcklin and between 1900 and 1906 member of the famous Viennese Artist Group "Hagenbund".
