Busy street scene before a mosque in Istanbul was executed ca.1920s by Polish-French orientalist painter Jozef Pawlikiewicz , who travelled to Turkey, where he created a lot of views of Instanbul on the turn of 20th century. His Istanbul watercolours regulary sold in Polish and French auctions. Inscription: titled and and signed "Stambul. J.Pawlikiewicz" lower left and titled with name of the street in French:"Rue d ..Ey..li" ,lower right, on the reverse of watercolour - old memory inscription in German: "Gruss aus Konstantinopel ( English: greeting from Contantinoples from your Pohly Angelides).
Inscription: signed lower left.
Technique: watercolour on paper. original period matt and frame.
