This view of old (south italian ?) city was ececuted in 1891 and was purchased on important auction by Sothebys "Aus Deutschen Schlössern. Ancestral Attics" (Castle Monrepos by Stuttgart/Baden-Wuerttemberg,Germany, 9 -14.october 2000) as part of lot with 5 paintings by different artists from the estate of Great Duchess of Russia, later (since 1864) Queen of Wuerttemberg Olga Nicolaevna (1822-1892) due tothe style and provenance was attributed to her hand. It´s known today , Great Duchess Olga Nicolaevna was also amateur painter , who signed her works with first name "Olga", most of her works are missing and have high importance for history of Russia. Only 3 works by Olga were founded in the international art market .
