Stormy seascape by Dover (South English coast)) was created by listed German marine and landscape painter Franz Emil Krause (1836 in Niededer-Schönhausen by Berlin - 1900 Conway /Wales, England) . The artist exhibited his marine and landscape works in the Berlin Academy Exhibition in 1870-1872. In the City Museum of Riga situated two his works: "English coast" and "Dutch landscape"

Inscription: signed lower left, on the reverse of stretcher - two old labels in German: original title "An der Küste von Dover" and biographical info about the artist (dates written with mystake).
Technique: oil on canvas. Original period gold-plated frame.
Measurements: unframed w 22 2/3" x 16 1/2" (57,5 x 42 cm); framed 28 1/3 " x 22" (72 x 56 cm)
