Original watercolour (grisaille) as design to Vienna postcardwas executed ca. 1900 by good listed Austrian artist Josef Kraenzle (1874 - 1937). Kränzle was a famous illustrator in Vienna in the end of the 19th - beginning of the 20th century, working for different newspapers, magazines and doing designs for postcards.
Inscription: signed J.Kraenzle, lower left and inscribed in German "Vienna".
Technique: matted grisaille (one-colour watercolour) on cardboard.
Measurements: image w 7 1/8" x h 10" (18 x 25,5 cm); matted w 13 " x h 19 " (33 x 48 cm)
