Episode from the Crimean War (1853-1856) , in which the author of the painting participated as officier in Russian services and fell in 1854. The painting depicting a classical and very detailled interior of a military accomodation during Crimean war. On the right side is possibly even author the painting, dressed in a oriental (turk) kostum . over his head on the wall hangs a notice with characteristics of restraint during medical quarantine. On the background - yard of the military camp in Cremean landscape with a figure of Russian guard.The author of this painting Ergmann Hummel (1826 Berlin - 1854) war the son and pupil of very renown German architecture and landscape painter of classicism Johann Erdmann Hummel (1769-1852) , as officier in Russian services took part in Crimean War (1853 - 1856) and fell on the battle field. It΄s known his drawings , sketches and watercolours from the war with scenes of military life but his oil paintings are extreme rare.
