Our historical painting depicting one of the episodes of WWI was created by famous Austrian illustrator, horse- and sport painter Carl Franz Bauer, born 1879 in Vienna (d. 1954 in Vienna).1897-1901 the artist studied in the Viennese Academy under Ch.Griepenkerl. He executed numerous caricatures, illustrations and poster projects for magazines in Austria and abroad.
