High qualitative portrait watercolour of Biedermeier epoch depicting the family of an Austrian Royal officer and was executed ca. 1840-1850s by well renown Austrian genre and portrait painter Carl Goebel (1824-1899). He was a very well-known watercolour and graphic artist. His first teachers were the famous romantical artists J.A. Klein and J.C.Ehrhard. Later he studied also at the Vienna Academy. He was a very popular portrait and genre painter who travelled through Europe and Russia and worked at various European courts. Works by him belong to collections of various museums.
