Allegorical scene with the beauty playing with deafs in a antique garden was executed ca. 1870s by listed French portrait and figure apinter Eugene Mathieu (born 1812 in Nogent-s.-Seine), pupil of Drolling, worked in Paris, where from 1847 to 1869 exhibited at the Salon..

Inscription: signed lower left, on the reverse of canvas- stamp of a Paris canvas producer.

Technique: oil on canvas, original period gold-plated frame.

Measurements: w 15 " x h 24 " (38 x 61 cm), framed w 25 3/8 " x 34 1/2 " (64,5 x 87,5 cm).

Condition: in very good condition.
