Romantic portrait of a young Viennese beauty with a landscape backdrop was executed ca. 1840s by renowed Austrian portrait painter Ernst Lafite ( 1826 - 1885). The brother of Carl Lafite , another austrian painter, Ernst Lafite studied at the Vienna Art Academy by famous artist Franz Schrotzberg. He worked in Vienna and exhibited his portrait works on many austrian exhibitions.

Inscription: unsigned , on reverse -old inscription with the name of the artist and stamp of a Viennese paint board producer.

Technique: painted in oval, oil on board, original period gold-plated frame
