Large genre scene with Spanisch musicians , mounted in the lusxuriousy original period gold-plated frame. The painting was executed in 1873 by good-listed British genre painter John Haynes - Williams (1836 Worcester - 1908 Eastbourne). He studied in Worcester and Birmingham , 1861 settled in London, where he exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1863-1897 . At the same time he sent his works for exhibitions of British Institute, Society of British Artists. By Society of British Artists held he many years the honorary post of treasurer . The yield of a Spanish Journey (1862)were a series of paintings , full of life and pathos with which he had represented since 1870 in the Royal Academy: the large, figurative painting, "Alos toros", the "Preaching"and the rococo painting "The Ancestor on the tapestry "in the Liverpool Gallery. He described in other works the epoch of the Stuarts, of Francis I of France, leads the French empire, whose costumes and equipment in his most elegant scenes. He was called "novelist of the canvas" and possessed a place of honor among the representatives of the historical genre painting.

Inscription: signed on the part of the canvas, wihich was truncated by the framing and was glued in the middle of the backside of the stretcher (see additional photo); original bronze plaque with the name of the artist and title of the painting , mounted to the frame lower middle.

Technique: oil on canvas, magnificent original period giltframe

Measurements: image diameter 28 3/4 " (73 cm); unframed w 29 1/8 " x h 29 1/2" (74 x 75 cm); framed w 44 7/8" x h 45 1/4 " (114 x 115 cm).

Condition: in very good condition.
