This seascape in Crimea is early work by Russian-Ukrainian painter Egor Egorovitch Schreider (1844 Cherson - 1922 Charkov).This work , dated 1868 , was executed by the author during his study at the Fine Arts Academy in St.Petersburg and influenced from seascapes by Ivan Aivazovsky. Egor Schreider was born 1844 in Cherson on Black Sea , studied 1868-1870 at the Art Academy in St.Petersburg, in 1872 - a small incentive medal in 1874 - the title of class artist of 3 degrees in painting the landscape. (Kondakov). Since 1870 settled in Charkov, Schreider became the founder and owner of first private first landscape school of Charkov . His pupils were famous painters: O.Della-Vos-Kardovskaja; Nik.Dosekin, Konstantin Zefirov and Konstantin Isstomin. Paintings by Shreider are very rare on the international art market. Condition: in good condition, fine tiny cracks in the lower part, old professional relining of canvas. |
