Classical Italian landscape was executed in 17th century by the represantative of Dutch-Italian school and despite the absence of a signature , have all stilistic and compositional identity to be to attributed to famous Dutch landscape painter Jan Vermeer van Haarlem III (1650 - Haarlem -1705), who lived and worked in Italy and after return to Haarlem created Italian landscapes with peasants and animals. He studied by his father Vermeer van Haarlem senior and by Nicolas Berchem. After Italy he returned to Haarlem , where 1681 together with his brother Barent occurs in the Guild. His works are in many important collections and museums.

Literature: "General Artist´s Lexicon " by Thieme/Becker, Leipzig, 1999.

Inscription: signed with illegible monogramm ower right, on the reverse old illegible remains of inscriptions.

Technique: oil on canvas.Antique gold-plated frame of later period.

Measurements: unframed w 11 1/2" x h 9 1/2 " (29 x 24 cm), framed w 14 " x h 11 3/4 " (35,5 x 30 cm).

Condition: in quite good condition,
