This is an original oil painting by famous German female animalist Meta Pluckenbaum (1876 Dortmund - after 1933 Duesseldorf). She was listed artist who worked in the late 1800s and early 1900s and did many animal portraits. Her work is well known throughout the world .Her etchings with cats and dogs arrive high estimates by international auctions, but those original paintings as our are not to find on the art market.

Inscription: signed lower right, on the reverse of canvas - original artists inscription with the title of the painting : "Lilli und Pussi. Meta Plückebaum..." and old German news-paper label with the info about the artist.
