Famous Austrian genre, portrait and historic painter Leopold Bara (1846-1911) studied at the Vienna Academy under Aselm Feuerbach. Later undertook study travel to Italy and was a member of an expidition of count Lanckoronski to Greece and Asia Minor. The artist regularly exhibited his works in Munich and was awarded with several important prizes and medals (e.g.1906 Silver Medal). Since 1892 he had been a member of Vienna Artists Unit and since 1910 a member of Albrecht Durer Unit.
