Large colourful view of gulf of Naples with Vesuvius in the background was executed in 1930s-1940s i by listed Austrian landscape painter Gottfried Arnegger, who was the son of Alois Arnegger (1879 - 1967), travelled and worked in Italy with his father and recieved acknowledge for his South Italian views and coast views of lakes of Como and Garda.

Inscription: signed lower right, original metal plaque on the frame lower middle, artists original title in German. "Naples" , on the edge of canvas (see photo).

Technique: oil on canvas. Magnificent original period frame.
