Large vertical still life with flowers was executed in the end od 19th century by listed painter and watercolour artist Ruth Mercier. She was born in Switzerland from french parents, studied and worked in paris, exhibitied at the Salon Artistes Francais, honorable mention in 1885; by the World exhibition 1900 was awarded with bronze medal, also exhibited in London. Her still lifes arrived high results by international auctions (11500 USd by Chrisities Amsterdam, on 24.03.1999, Lot No. 39).
