Rare original painting by renowed Russian landscape artist Pavel Pavlovich Dzhogin (1834 village Ponurovka Chernigov province - 1885 St. Petersburg). Dzhogin was born in a family of doctor. He graduated from the Chernigov high school. In 1854-1862 he studied in a class of landscape painting at IAH SM Vorobiev as an auditor. In 1857 he was awarded a small gold medal, in 1858 - small and large silver medal for the painting "View in the Oaks in the vicinity of St. Petersburg". He took part in the competition for a gold medal, but to no avail. He graduated from the IAH class artist with a rank of 2 nd degree.Summer months of 1858 together with Ivan Shishkin and A. Guinet worked on the island of Valaam. Many traveled to Russia, was a frequent visitor to Ukraine and in the Novgorod province. From 1859 regularly exhibited his work with the kinds of neighborhoods of St. Petersburg, Novgorod and Chernigov provinces exhibitions IAH and Society for the Promotion of Artists. In 1867, for the painting "View of Chernigov province" and for "art and knowledge in painting the landscape" was awarded the title of academician. In the summer of 1864 on the instructions of the Hydrographic Department, along with AP Bogolyubov worked on compiling the atlas shores of the Baltic Sea.In his works performed continuing the traditions of the academic landscape. By Remark art historian by FI Bulgakov, his landscapes on display at academic exhibitions, "promised to him a talented artist, but he was forced to work exclusively for the art market».Jogin works are in many museum and private collections. The master´s career is represented in the Hermitage, State Tretyakov Gallery, State Russian Museum, State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan in Kazan museums of Irkutsk, Kurk, Tjumen, Alma-Ati , Tashkent.

Russian biography: Джогин Павел Павлович - живописец-пейзажист. Писал виды окрестностей Петербурга и различных местностей Эстляндской, Новгородской и Черниговской губерний. Творчество Павла Павловича Джогина предшествует времени великих открытий в отечественной пейзажной живописи. Его полотна, полные тишины и спокойствия, несут следы академического пейзажа, что естественно, так как он прошел хорошую школу в Академии художеств, где учился в 1850-е годы и где получил за свои первые успехи ученические медали. По окончании освоения основ пейзажной живописи П.Джогин получает звание классного художника (1863). К этому времени он - постоянный участник академических выставок. Член Петербургской артели художников (с 1863). Совместно с А.В.Гине и. И.Шишкиным работал над альбомом с видами острова Валаам. Наиболее известная картина: ""Вид в Дубках, близ Петербурга"" (1886). Его виды окрестностей Петербурга и Прибалтики ("Вид в Эстляндии близ Нарвы", 1872), природы Новгородской и Черниговской губерний ("Вид в Черниговской губернии", 1876), так же, как и красоты Севера ("На Валааме", 1865), приносят художнику известность и многочисленные заказы. Последние он был вынужден брать и выполнять, ибо они были для живописца едва ли не единственным источником дохода. Связанная с такой работой суета едва ли способствует углубленной работе художника над своими произведениями. Возможно, это и стало причиной того, что даровитый живописец, академик пейзажной живописи (с 1868) П.П.Джогин, вплотную подойдя к горной стране изобразительного искусства, не пытался штурмовать одну из ее пусть не самых высоких вершин. Его произведения имеются также в Государственной Третьяковской галерее, Государственном Эрмитаже, музеях Иркутска, Курска, Тюмени, Алматы, Ташкента и других.
