Landscape with a figure on the lake bank was executed ca. 1890s by listed English-American landscape painter John Noble  Barlow ( 1861 Manchester - 1917 St.Ives, Cornwall) in the style of the famous French School of Barbison. Since 1887 US-citizen. Studied: Paris by Benjamin Constant, Jules Lefèbvre und Paul Louis Delance. Member: Providence Art Club; 1896 R.Soc. of Brit. Artists; 1916 R.Inst. of Oil Painters. Awarded : 1899 Med. (3.Cl.) Paris, Salon; 1900 Silver-Med. Paris, World Exhibition.In the first time painted French Barbisone landscapes, views of Cornwall, f.E.: Lamorna Valley; Marazion Marshnearbyn also few marine paintings.Exhibitions: 1889, ´90 Paris, Salon / 1893-1902 London, RA; R.Soc. of Brit. Artists; R.Inst. of Oil Painters / 1905 Vienna, Künstlerhaus (Cat.).
