It is the second part of the pair of symbolistic-allegorical paintings "The morning star" and "The Moon" (first part - previous item no. 3244). This pair of paintings was executed in Vienna by renowed and high quoted Austrian genre painter Carl Schweninger (1854 - Vienna - 1903), the son of artist Carl Schweninger senior and brother of female artist Rosa Schweninger. At first he studied by his father, later" in Viennese and Munich Academies. He painted with preference scenes from the Rococo time, oriental, historical and nude genre scenes and also worked with success in the field of sculpture. His genre works have high results by different international auction houses (see additional photos).
