Very finely detailed animalistic painting by well-renowed Belgian painter-animalist Frans Van Severdonck (1790- Brussels - 1881). Belgian painter, lived and worked in Brussels and mainly painted genre scenes and landscapes with cows, sheep and poultry. He can be counted among the followers of the Belgian cattle painter Eugène Verboeckhoven, throughout the 19th century, the cattle piece a very popular genre. In Belgium, among others, of French Leemputten and Remy Maes followers Verboeckhoven in Netherlands Albertus Verhoesen.
