This lot is a pair to the item no. 3305. Masterfully watercolour study of peaches was executed by good listed Austrian still life painter Franz Xaver Petter (1791 - 1866). This work came from the same private collection as item No. 3305.
Franz Xaver Petter was a pupil of J.B. Drechsler and S. Wegmayr at the Vienna Academy; from 1814 - taught at the School of Flower Drawing of the Academy; from 1832 was a Professor of the Drawing School of the Royal Porcelain Manufactory, and from 1835 - its Director.His flower paintings were very popular in Austrian high society circles. Today, they belong to the most esteemed museum collections in Austria and worldwide. They achieve remarkable prices at the international art auction market.
