Expressive marine painting by well renowed French artist Jules Achille Noel ( 1815 -1881), known for his depiction of sea-scapes and naval scenes. The artist, born in 1815 in Quimper, began his artistic training in Brest under Charioux, came to Paris, debuted in 1840 and undertook then longer journeys in the Orient (1843-1845). Under his quite responding, but sometimes all too multicolored landscapes and marine are to be called: "The Duke and the Duchess of Nemours on the Reede of Brest" (1844), "Memory of Rhodos" (1846), "Wedding in Brittany", "Return of fishing", "Environments of Calais" (1857), "Receipt of the Queen of England in Cherbourg" (1858), "Port of Morlaix" (1859), "Memory of Konstantinopel" (1861), "The shipwrecked ones" (1865), "Beach of Tréport "among other things.
