French Salon genre scene with a beauty and her favorite parrot was executed by good-listed French painter and drawer Felix Bauer (1854 - Lyon - 1933). He studied at the Art Academy in Lyon, then in 1869-1872 in the atelier Louis Guy. 1874-1877 working as a silk merchant. Again studied: 1878 / 79-82 by Jean Barthelemy Domer and Jean Scohy; in Paris student of Albert Maignan, Jean-Paul Laurens and Joseph Bail. 1887 co-founder of Soc. Lyonnaise des BA, 1899-1923 whose President together with Francisque Favre; Jury Member of the ECBA(fine art school) in Lyon. 1896 Officier d´Acad., 1905 Officier de l´Instruction publ. 1907 Commandeur de Nitcham-Iftikar 1920 Chevalier Legion of Honor. New friendship with the painters Louis Carrand, François Vernay, Saint-Cyr Girier, Charles Jung and others. Painted genre and historical pictures (scenes of the 18th century) and still lifes, portraits. and landscapes. Awards: honor-Med. (1894 Lyon, Salon, 1912 Paris, Salon). Also collected hist. Musical instruments and contemporary paintings.
