Lovely genre painting with two dogs ( King Charles Spaniels ?) due to the all stilisric criteria is typical work by good listed Belgian animalist Vincent de Vos (1829 - 1875). For comparison see additional images. The artist, born in Courtrai/Belgium, studied by Eduard Woutermaertens. He painted mostly dogs, in a style similar to that of Joseph Stevens, but with a trade drier, more meticulous.
Works by him situated in museums of Mulhouse and Tourcoing.
