Seascape at Capri by well renowed German marine painter Karl (Karl Theodor) Boehme (1866 Hamburg - 1939 Munich). The artist studied : 1884-92 Academy in Karlsruhe by Gustav Schönleber. From his journeys to Rügen, Bornholm and Norway (1891), later also to France developed numerous coastal paintings. His coastal motives of South Italy , which he painted v.a. during a longer stay on Capri, bring him large success. Since 1891 he took part at exhibitions in Munich, Vienna, Berlin, Salzburg and Buenos Aires ; repeated honors (among other things golden Med.).

Inscription: signed with author´s monogramm and dated Capri 1895, middle right, signed again lower right : "Karl Boehme".

Technique: oil oncanvas/cardboard, original period gold-plated frame.

Measurements: unframed w 20 1/2 " x h 16 1/8" (52 x 41 cm), framed w 24 3/4" x h 20 1/2" (63 x 52 cm).

Condition: in very good condition.
