High quality painting with a jockey on horseback was executed in the late 19th century by horse and animal painter Karl Volkers (1860 Duesseldorf - 1944 Fischenich by Cologne) the son of another German horse artist Emil Volkers (1831 - 1905). Karl Volkers studied by his father and at the Munich Academy, worked in Munich.
