Impressionistic painting with figures at the brook in the Forest of Barbison was executed ca. 1890s by listed French representative of famous School of Barbison Hippolyte Alizone. We know of him a " Hill under the snow " sold in Amsterdam in 1909, and two "Vues des Vosges " in the Galerie Roussel. For comparison see similar work by Alizone from Van Ham auction /Germany.
