This oriental street scene with original author´s tittle "Studie aus Albanien" (in English: Study from Albania) was executed by well renowed and high quoted Austrian impressionist Carl Fahringer ( 1874 Wiener Neustadt - 1952 Vienna) and exhibited in famous Viennese artist union "Kuenstlerhaus" in 1911. On the back of the cardboard is original exhibition label of Kuenstlerhaus with inventory number and dating 1911. The authorship and the original title was confirmed by Mr. P.Rachler, Kuenstlerhaus Archive ( copy of his confirming e-mail on 10.010.2017 was attached to the work).
The artist studied from 1894 to 1898 at the Viennese academy with Sigmund L´Allemand, Christian Griepenkerl and Rudolf Eisenmenger; afterwards he changed for four years to the Munich academy to Carl Marr. In his early work he was busy predominantly with book illustrations to fairy tale, among other things from Bechstein, fury and Hauff as well as to works of Goethe. Together with his brother Josef he undertook long study trips to Italy, Egypt, Albania, Bosnia, in Turkey and to Paris. From 1903 to 1906 was Fahringer member of the Hagenbund union as well as from 1907 of the of the artist´s Union Kuenstlerhaus. During the First World War he was obliged as a war painter in Russia and Italy. In 1922 and 1929 he visited Java, Sumatra and Bali. This travelling can be respected as a turning point in his work. From Fahringer applied there a far more colorintensive pallet with more bright, stronger sounds(clay). Harbour and market scenes became near animal representations on its preferred subjects. In 1929 to 1945 taught Fahringer in the Viennese academy. In 1952 he died in Vienna.
