This is a pair to the painting by the same author, next item number 4842.

Winter forest painting (with original artist´s title in Russian : Podmoskovnaja notch) was executed in 1957 by famous Soviet landscape artist Lydia Isaakovna Brodskaja ( 1910 - 1991).She was the daughter of artist-classic of the Soviet Art Isaak Brodsky. Since 1980 she became a range of the Folk Painter of the USSR . Corresponding member of Academy of Arts of the USSR (1970). The winner of the State award RSFSR of I.E. Repin. In 1935-1939 as the auditor she studied in a workshop of the father Isaak Brodsky in the Leningrad Academy of Arts, since 1939 - in Moscow under N. P. Krymov. Brodskaja devoted the creativity to the image of the native nature. The author of the landscapes devoted to the nature of the Urals, Siberia, the Far East, Ukraine ("A decline over Dnepr" (1972), "Spring" (1961-67), etc.). The participant of exhibitions since 1944. Lydia Brodskaya´s works were exhibited at exhibitions in France (1948), Finland (1950), Poland (1951), India (1951), China (1954), Syria (1955). Personal exhibitions took place in Moscow in 1948, 1949, 1955. In 1981 L. I. Brodskaya is awarded by a silver medal of Academy of Arts of the USSR.

Her works are in the collections of Tretyakov Gallery, Russian State Museum, museums of Kiew, Lwow and Tcheljabinsk.
