Salon scene with original artist’s German title " Neuigkeiten" (in English: News) by renowned German painter Fritz Karl Johann Marin (1859 Leipzig - 1932 Munich). He studied at the Academies in Lepzig (1876-82) and in Munich under F.Wagner (1883-92). He settled in Munich and recieved acknowledge for his genre and historistic scenes with Rococo and Empire costumes.

Inscription: signed upper right, on the back of the canvas is artist´s label with his signature and title in German: „ Fritz Martin, München, „Neuigkeiten""; on the back of the stretcher -old label with the biography of the artist.

Technique: oil on canvas. Luxuriousy original period frame.

Measurements: unframed 39 1/2" x 30" (100,5 x 76cm), framed 50" x 39 3/4" ( 127 x 101 cm).
