|   This is a rare , monumental watercolour in the good condition and  original period frame  came from the very good provenance. The watercolour acquired by Sotheby´s Castle-Auction Monrepos , Germany on 10.10.2000 , Lot number 1028. Aritst:  Caroly Poop de Szathmari ( 1812 Klausenburg in Romania - 1887 Bukarest). He studied in Rome (1832-1834), travelled to Turkey and Persia. Later he studied in Vienna by Peter Fendi and in Paris by Raffet. Since 1840 he lived in Bukarest and was a court painter by King of Romania Carol the I . Similar watercolours are in Estate of king houses of Romania and Germany. Provenance:  Prince Leopold von Hohenzollern (1835-1905), the brother of romanian king Carol I (1839-1914) Inscription: unsigned Technique:   watercolour on paper.
