This view of a town on the Rhine with ancient ruins (due to the similar topography it is world heritage town Bacharach on the Rhine in the Rheinland-Pfalz ) was executed in the late 19th Century by Austrian-German painter Heinrich Eduard Heyn, who was active in the late 19th Century and created a lot of alpine landscapes from Austria and Germany.
Inscription: signed and titled DSF.(Duesseldorf) lower right.
Technique: oil on canvas. Original period frame.
