Classical still ife with flowers, butterfly and fly was executed ca. in 1900 by famous Austrian flower painter Franz Xaver Pieler (1876 Vienna - -1952 Klosterneuburg).He studied from 1891 to 1894 and till 1899 worked as decoration painer. Following years he worked in Berlin, O)sterode, Magdeburg, and in Berlin again.In 1911 he came to Vienna.
His artistic career led him through the Dutch and Viennese flower painters and through tireless study of nature to a certain independence in the flower and still life painting.
