Typical example of French impressionistic flower art from late 19th Century , it was executed in 1888 by listed landscape, genre and still life painter Paul Lecuit-Monroy (1858 - Paris - 1926). He was the pupil of Bouguereau, T. Robert-Fleury, Gabriel Ferrier, lived and worked in Paris.

Literature: "General Artist´s Lexicon " by Thieme/Becker (in German) Leipzig, 1999; E. Benezit " Dictionary of painters, sculptors, decorators and etchers"(in French), Paris, 1999.

Inscription: signed in French and dated lower left: : P.Lecuit. dit. Monroy, 6.1888.

Technique: oil on canvas, original period partially gold-plated frame.

Measurements: unframed w 18 1/8" x h 15" (46 x 38 cm); framed w 24 1/2" x h 21 2/3" (62 x 55 cm).

Condition: very good condition.
