Antique bronze sculpture ”Mother bear and her cub ” was executed by listed French sculptor Paul-Edouard Delabrière (Delabrièrre), born in 1829 Paris, died 1912. He was a pupil of Jean-Baptiste Delestre. Salon debut with Lévrier tenant un lièvre sous sa patte. Realist, influenced by Antoine-Louis Barye. And the anecdot. Emphasizing (hunts and fight scenes) animal skulptures.. Species and breeds in stone, plaster, terracotta, wax, iron casting and especially bronze (statues, groups, statuettes; most recently often in the art trade). It’s famous also a bronze medallion Madame D. (1878) for the cemetery Père Lachaise. Member of the Society of the French Artists.

Technique: bronze, dark brown patina.
