Romantic far landscape with a river in montains and a shepherd sounding horn was executed in 1856 by good listed French landscape painter Pierre Alexandre Jeanniot (1826 Champlitte/Haute Saone - 1892 Vesoul). He was the father of another painter George’s J., pupil of F.Diday and A.Calame in Geneva (1847), painted most of all alpine landscapes from Area Saône , Dijon and Swiss Alps, portraits, exhibited in 1852-1873 in The Salon de Paris. In 1873-1879 was Director of The a hool of Fine Arts in Dijon, where he since 1851 worked as drawing teacher. His landscape works are in museums of Dijon and Nancy.
