Jules-Ferdinand Medard (French 1855-1925) French painter, specialised in floral still-life, the represantative of the Lyonese flower school. His still-lifes were often arranged formally in a vase, but also sometimes scattered more casually across a tabletop. A pupil of Jean Marie Reigner (1815-1886) at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts of Lyon in 1871, he exhibited his works there at the Salon des Printemps from 1875, and then from 1878 at the Paris Salon. He won acclaim for his works in his lifetime and had a number of pupils.His flower paintings are in the Museum of Lyon.
