Allegorical scene with nymphs on the lake shore was executed by famous French painter Emile Louis Foubert (1848 Paris - 1911 Paris). 1872 Soldier in a Infantryregiment. Studied: since 1872 Ecole for Drawing and Painting, Bayonne bei Achille Zo; then School of Fine Art in Paris bei Léon Bonnat, Charles Busen und Henri Leopold Lévy. Mythologjsche, religious und allegorical subjects, under them many were lithographed; female nude paintings, genre, portraits, and also landscapes from Region Paris (espessional Seine- und Marne-Shore). Since 1884 -member of Society of French Artists. Awards: 1879 Honourable mention; 1880 Med. 3. Class; 1885 Med. 2. class, 1889 Bronze medall, 1900 Silver medall.

Inscription: signed lower left, original antique bronze plaque with the name of the artist and original title in French: „ La main chaude ” (in English: the hot hand).

Technique: oil on canvas. Luxuriousy original period frame.

Measurements: w 15 1/3" x h 19 1/2" ( 39 x 49,5 cm), w. 21 1/2" x h. 25 1/2" (54,5 x 65 cm ).

Condition: in good condition.
