Impressionistic motive from Yalta in Crimea was executed in 1966 by famous Soviet painter Valentina Peteovna Tcvetkova (in Russian: Валентина Петровна Цветкова), born 1917 in Astrachan , died 2007 in Yalta.
Soviet painter. Volk´s Artist of Ukraine, honorary citizen of the city of Yalta, Classic of the Crimean painting, one of the best masters of still life and landscapes in Ukraine, is widely known for her life-affirming works. Her works are high quoted among collectors and arrive prices in art auctions and galleries until 15000 €. Born in 1917 in Astrakhan. She graduated from the Astrakhan Art College (1935). Awarded orders and medals. People´s Artist of Ukraine since 1985. Lived and worked in Yalta. Since the 1930s V.P. Tsvetkova worked in the portrait genre. In the 1940s, she created a gallery of portraits of heroes of the Great Patriotic War.
Since 1951, a permanent participant in republican exhibitions, since 1955, the All-Union. Her exhibitions were exhibited in the cities of Crimea, in Moscow, Kiev, Astrakhan, Kislovodsk. In 1967 and 1968 she participated in international exhibitions of women artists in Paris, and in 1970 in the exhibition of Ukrainian artists in Canada. Solo exhibitions of the artist were held in Yalta, Simferopol, Kiev, Moscow, Astrakhan, Paris.
Tsvetkova traveled a lot in the CIS countries and abroad: Italy, France, USA, Egypt, India, Turkey, Algeria, Lebanon. In these travels, she was always with a travel sketchbook and worked every minute, and brought home hundreds of sketches and studies. Her ability to sharply grasp the details and nuances from the observed, to choose the essential, colorful, is distinguished by her traveling studies. In urban landscapes, she captures the main architectural compositions reflecting the grandeur of ancient cities such as Alexandria or London, the narrow streets of Nice and the views of Cairo that excite the imagination with oriental exoticism.
Tsvetkova’s works were acquired by the best museums in the world: the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Russian Museum in St. Petersburg, the State Museum of Ukrainian Fine Art in Kiev, museums in Bulgaria, Hungary, Canada, Japan, the USA, France, and also decorate private collections around the world.
