Scene on the racetrack in the Viennese Prater was executed by famous Austrian painter, writer and illustrator of numerous newspaers, magazines and erotica Gottfried Sieben (1856 in Stockerau - 1918). His father, Johann Kaspar Gottfried Sieben, was a fair dye and mayor of Stockerau. The mother, Theresia Schaumann, was the daughter of Johann and Theresia Schaumann.

Sieben was a student of the k. k. Vienna Academy. From 1880 he drew for the satirical weekly Der Floh and then for the Viennese caricatures. From 1881 he published cityscapes and drawings of current events in Austria-Hungary in illustrated newspapers. In 1888 he made a trip to Russia and the Caucasus. He also worked in various newspapers and magazines, for example the Wiener Tageblatt, the Elegante Welt and Tritsch-Tratsch. The wall paintings in the Vienna Animal Protection Association also come from Seven. He mainly published his monographs with Gustav Grimm, Budapest.
