Mastefully genre scene in a noble club was executed by renown German painter Carl Wilhelm Anton Seiler ( 1846 Wiesbaden - 1921 Munich). He studied in Berlin, by K.Raupp in Munich . In 1884/1895 - professor in the Berlin Academy , later in Munich again. Honoured member of Munich Academy since 1890,. His works situated in Museums of Bautzen, Dresden , Leipzig, Melbourne, New Pinakothek in Munich, , City Gallery in Munich, Gallery of Wiesbaden. For his works he was presented with an honorary award at the Paris Salon des Artistes Indépendants in 1903.

Literature: Thieme/Becker "Allgemeines Lexikon der bildenden Künstler"

Inscription: signed and dated 1903 lower right, original plaque with the artist‘s name, mounted to the frame.

Technique: oil on wood panel, original period gold-plated frame.

Measurements: unframed w 24" x h 15 1/3 " (61 x 39 cm), framed w 30 1/3 " x h 22 " (77 x 56 cm).

Condition: in very good condition.
