„Heron and duck pair on the water“ was executed by renown Dutch animale, bird, landscape painter August Knip (1819-1859), who came from the famous artist family , he was the sibling of another famous animale painter Henriette Ronner-Knip. It is very likely that this painting is the same, which was sold in Neumeister, Munich on September 26th, 2001 (for comparison see additional photo). probably when changing from another frame, the canvas was cut off a little and the signature was lost. Any way, our work has all criteria to be attributed to the hand of August Knip.
