Masterfully portrait miniature of Elena Pavlovna (1784-1803), Grand Duchess of Russia, the daughter of Russian tsar Paul I. It was executed on ivory around 1800 by a representative of Russian school in the style of famous miniaturist Augustin Ritt (1765-St.Petersburg-1799).Grand Duchess Elena Pavlovna of Russia, Hereditary Princess of Mecklenburg ( 24 December 1784 St.Petersburg - 24 September 1803 Ludwigslust) was a daughter of Grand Duke, later Tsar Paul I of Russia and his second wife Sophie Dorothea of WUerttemberg. After marrying the son and heir of the Grand Duke of Mecklenburg-Schwerin she ceased to use her Russian title.
