Our painting came from the property of Royal House of Hannover ( important auction of Sotheby´s in Castle Marienburg "Works of Art from the Royal House of Hanover", 5 - 15 October 2005, Lot 1845) and depicts a portrait of royal major Rudolff on horseback.

This high-heroical work created by renowned court portrait and military painter in Hanover Conrad L´Allemand (1809 Hanau - 1880 Hanover).He studied in Vienna , later in 1830s came siedeled in frankfurt a.M. where ca. 10 years worked as very popular portrait artist and then lived and worked in Berlin and Hanover by hover King as court painter . His famous military portrait works( for exemple Portrait of Kronprinz Ernst August in the guards-hussar uniform on the horseback) can be find in the Provencial museum of Hanover and National Portrait Gallery in London.

Provenance: Property of Royal House of Hanover ( castle Blankenburg), important Sotheby´s Auction , Schloss Marienburg, Germany , 5-15.10.2005, Lot Nr. 1845 , untill 1905- in Royal Castle of Herzog of Cumbeland in Gmunden and later - in Royal castle in Herrenhausen.
