Genre scene in the artist workshop was executed in 1883 by Austrian history and genre painter of Slovenian origin Franz von Persoglia (* 1852 in Ljubljana - 1912 in Vienna).

Persoglia studied at the Vienna Academy (under Eduard von Engerth) and was a genre painter of the Romantic era, which received a new impetus for very realistic depictions, especially in the second half of the 19th century.

In addition to these realistic depictions, Persoglia also created a large number of paintings in the Neo-Rococo style and its "fine society".
