This seascape by Nervi ( now part of Genoa) was executed by well renowed German marine painter Karl (Karl Theodor) Boehme (1866 Hamburg - 1939 Munich). The artist studied : 1884-92 Academy in Karlsruhe by Gustav Schönleber. From his journeys to Rügen, Bornholm and Norway (1891), later also to France developed numerous coastal paintings. His coastal motives of South Italy, which he painted v.a. during a longer stay on Capri, bring him large success. Since 1891 he took part at exhibitions in Munich, Vienna, Berlin, Salzburg and Buenos Aires ; repeated honors (among other things golden Med.).
