Masterfully portrait of an young Egyptian ( a pair to the item No. 5659) was created by one of the best European orientalists and portrait painters of 19th century Franz Xaver Kosler (1864 Vienna - 1905 Syracuse). The artist born in Vienna in 1864, studied at the Art Academy by Leopold Karl Müller. In 1886 he travelled to Dalmatia, Montenegro, Spain. Since 1892 he worked in Cairo. He became reputation with his oriental szenes and portraits. His paintings are very popular today among collectors (Orient, Austria , England and USA) and very high quoted by international auctions (to 80 000 USD)
